This is her current health insurance. She's a survivor beneficiary of a retired US Navy serviceman. If I'll be working again, I need to have someone supervise or socialize while I'm away. She can't be alone at my Apartment.

Does she have any assets? A home? If all she has is SS and/or a pension, then you maybe able to get her Medicaid. They have homecare services and LTC, Long Term Care. Medicare does not pay for LT homecare, only with discharge from a hospital or rehab and only for so many days, Your other option is to call TriCare and see if they will OK an aide. Otherwise, its private pay in an Assisted Living or Nursing home or in your home.

call your local Va center. Home base Community care & apply for Aid & attendance thur your local veterans service officers. No one should ever charge you, Va has respite care 30 throughout the year to be used or you loose it. Good Luck. Always ask questions & continue to ask everyone always gives a different answer & others are NOT knowledgeable.. :)

This OP never responded to the answers. Note, it was Dec.

A& A can take months to get. Have to have the correct paperwork. You have to show need. My Mom had just enough money to keep her in AL for a year. She needed 24/7 care. She was denied. I chose not to pursue it since Mom was going onto Medicaid. Can't have both.
